The Caribbean Fly Fishing Co. can outfit your party with all the gear you need for light tackle or fly fishing. We know that many fly fisherman like to use their own gear, so here are our suggestions:

bonefish, tarpon and permit fly fishing:

ROD:

• 8wt bonefish rod
• 10wt for windy days and bigger game

• with wt forward floating line that matches your rod
• at least 250 yds of backing intermediate line optional

FLIES:

Custom tied flies will be supplied, you can bring your own flies if you like.

Suggested patterns:

• All-around fly: brown/white Clouser minnow
• Merkin crabs for permit
• Crazy charlies & other classic bonefish patterns in brown/olives, sizes 2 + 4
• standard decievers for bigger game

• bonefish tapered leaders, 9ft in 8 to 10lb test
• tarpon leaders, 16# test, with 60# shock tippet

• Swimming trunks
• light material long sleeve shirt, and dry T-shirts
• Wide rim hat (collapsible w/chin strap)
• Polarized sunglasses are imperitive
• Sunscreen, a must! (45 SPF or higher)
• Shoes- for the flats, boots or booties are fine, you will be walking over coral and spiny creatures
• Boatshoes- topsiders or sandals can be worn when not fishing
